A House is Playful – Groundwork’s Play House
For 7,000 HKD (903 USD) per month, the accommodations that one may afford in Hong Kong are very small. Nowadays, for these flats to appear larger on-line, real estate agencies would take their on-site photos with extra wide-angled camera lens (a.k.a “fish -eye lens”).
“Groundwork’s Play House” was a simple comparison of accommodation sizes that one may be able to afford for 7,000 HKD per month at different cities across the world. It was amusing to realized that for 7,000 HKD per month, one may only be able to afford a flat that is the size of a standard on-suite bathroom in North America, but there is nothing amusing about this sad phenomenon, when we later realized that these poor living conditions are gradually accepted by the public and absorbed into Hong Kong’s social fabric.
Hopefully, our small intervention may demonstrate to Hong Kong’s public an inconvenient reality that we must address solemnly.
