Once home to government buildings and minibus stations, this playground has evolved into a vital thoroughfare and engaging space for the entire community. Embracing a multi-level design, it seamlessly weaves together play facilities that invite children to conquer cascading steps and glide down intertwined play structures. Above, revelers can explore the upper level free space hosting an inflatable minibus and playing host to carnivals, exhibitions, and mini-concerts—truly a dynamic experience for all ages.

The surrounding high-rise architecture provides a canvas for a captivating visual spectacle, as the park comes alive with vibrant colors and visually arresting elements. The design isn’t just playful; it pays homage to Kwun Tong’s heritage, drawing inspiration from its history, most notably the old salt pans. Mirroring the essence of salt—its multifaceted nature and transparency—this playground evokes a sense of connection and belonging through its design choices and lively color palette.
From the very beginning, community engagement was at the heart of its creation, gathering valuable feedback and ideas. This inclusive approach led to the integration of kid-friendly facilities, sports amenities, and comfortable seating areas while the inflatable minibus stands tall as a joyful nod to collective memories that shape Kwun Tong’s identity.

With an eye toward sustainability, eco-friendly materials were carefully selected throughout the project, offering a welcoming nod to preserving our environment. Salvaging and repurposing a Modular Integrated Construction (MIC) toilet block highlighted our commitment to minimize environmental impact—a true testament to our sustainable ethos.
Despite time constraints, our dedicated team efficiently maneuvered through construction by breaking the process into manageable areas and phases, ensuring timely progress and partial unveiling in time for much-anticipated festive events. Facing unique challenges, including relocating the MIC toilet block and prioritizing safety without impeding joy, our team remained steadfast, leading to an unforgettable result—an unparalleled space for everyone to delight in.
