共享空間不等於奪去個人私隱。年輕人需要擁有私人空間來沉澱，使身心得到無干擾的休息，從而充分發揮想像力。以我們設計的Oootopia為例，所有的房間都是獨立套間，唯一的共同享用的空間約200平方米——有使用榻榻米營造和式氛圍的寧靜空間；或是採光度極高的落地玻璃大廳。我們的設計並不奢華，但希望每個房間，都能成為住客奮鬥成就夢想背後，休息身心的港灣。
We have designed the rooms so that they are vessels to dream and to rest. They are not the best luxurious design but they can be the future leaders’ dream making vessels.

Visited the brilliant Guangzhou based practice AGARC by HKIA member Allan Ding, together with Frankie Lui(Atelier global), our good friend Xiao Bia and Song Yang of Mefine, esteemed young Shenzhen Architect Li Huai, and Han Shuang, the chief editor of Archidaily China.
Manfred在加拿大華文雜誌的專訪以「敢為人先的建築『覺·渡』」為題，長達十頁，刊登的圖片是GROUNDWORK設計的 2所幼兒園 — 金生幼稚園、科發幼稚園。在這世事常變的時代，Manfred認為自己設計原則是「敢為人先」，為建築注入良好的養分，使用家感到幸福是他的使命。及後Manfred 整合了行業迎接的挑戰，也列出怎樣一起攜手走出困局。

Groundwork與兒童事務
以建築署委托我們編寫的《城市兒童公共遊樂空間設計》報告為例，團隊清楚對象特質——兒童很容易分神，單純的問卷調查難以引起兒童的興趣。我們特別創作一套遊戲棋和多種遊戲，例如以「大風吹」實際取代問卷調查的選擇題；與其問他們問題，不如讓他們動動手腳發揮創意。遊戲不但能讓小朋友放下戒心，每個小朋友都以滿足的笑容度過活動同時，互動的方法更有效激發小朋友對事物的幻想，我們便從中觀察小朋友對遊樂的想法。

Placemaking的慨念不光是營造一個漂亮的地方而己，最重要的理念是借助公共空間連繫社區內每一個人，以人與環境的關係為重心。Groundwork認為社區空間的規劃、設計和管理方法都必須源於對社區有深切的理解。Placemaking彰顯的是「貼地」，要創造獨一無二的社區價值，你不得不研究當地社區的文化背景，不得不落區，去問清楚了當地居民對理想空間的嚮往。了解到獨特的社區性格，建築師才可以去重塑那處的地標，植根歸屬感的同時，為這片地方注入新的生命力，

除了不同的public engagement外，我們近年還協助不同學校營造「幸福空間」，以多種自然元素及色調，締造出舒適平靜氛圍，協助學生緩解焦慮，將學校演變成療癒心靈的美好安樂窩。Groundwork相信美感和社會意義是兼容的，繼續致力以建築為人們帶來幸福。
國內10個最新優秀幼兒園設計案例中，列出兩所Groundwork設計的幼兒園，非常感謝平台對我們設計美學的認可。Groundwork在這兩處利用建築與自然環境——由其是光影的融合來豐富空間，從而啟發孩子的思維與想象力。
作為建築師，我們設計幼兒園的空間及景觀時，不但是執著如何創新，而是想像孩子如何在這裡認識世界，在這裡建立他們對未來的盼望。我們相信有這樣切實的「以人為本」思維，才能設計出有靈魂有溫度，讓孩子產生歸屬感的建築。
