This was a design for the Hong Kong Pavilion Design for 2008 Shanghai Expo.
The Hong Kong pavilion is a formless piece of architecture, its reflective facade were made from highly polished stones. The pavilion is an analogy of Hong Kong unique history: it was a colonial city which is influenced by the surrounding and at the Expo, the image of the Chinese pavilion will be casted onto the Hong Kong pavilion. Once enters into the pavilion, its internal structure creates tapered vistas for views and circulation; the “Corridor of Truth”, leads spectators to the China pavilion within a restrained gap building the “Tower of Knowledge” and the “Tower of the Future””.
The over design is symbolical and minimal and it offered the visitors time to reflect and to think; Hong Kong has never been a city that offer mindfulness for its people.
