The project explores the use of Kaitak area. Our idea is to provide a spa that would allow visitor to swim and relax in the dirty harbor water.
Together with the existing open area along the water body, the spa itself would be a catalyst to transform the Kaitak district into a public space. The water surface – spa or sea water, is a mirror that could reflect the planes that are hovering above us. While bathing, visitors may enjoy the view of the harbor while they are in the harbor,
The spa facilities would provide opportunities for foreign workers who have experiences in spa and the massage industries to come to Hong Kong for work. It would also be the first public spa run by the Hong Kong government.
This is a poetic projects which blurs the boundary of clean vs filth, old vs new.
